- You will plan a goal to take confident steps toward homeownership. When you are mortgage-ready—prequalified or, even better, preapproved—you set yourself up for success.
- Of course, your income, credit and details matter in seeking an approval. It’s okay to begin a home finance plan early in your process, a year out even. Perfect credit is not required, and you do not need 20% down.

A tailored mortgage plan
It’s getting real as you gather updated documents, review disclosures, pick out insurance, appraisals and inspections are completed, and your loan is in underwriting seeking a final loan approval. You will gather underwriting conditions and documents, your file goes back into underwriting. If all goes as planned, you arrive at the day of “final loan approval.”
It is normal to feel a flurry of things on these steps to home ownership as you await your “clear to close” moment!

Finalize
Final numbers, getting keys on closing day
Title and lender balance final closing numbers, your closing is scheduled. You review your final closing disclosure for payment and closing numbers.
Finally, the day arrives, you sign at escrow and receive your keys!
